Introduction/MIE Mission

Media In Education (MIE), in partnership with The Arizona Republic and azcentral.com promotes literacy, technology and educational excellence by providing engaging online content, classroom materials, and support for increased access to Web-based learning in Arizona schools.

Tech Grant Program

MIE encourages the daily practice of online reading, research and learning, and will provide funding that supports classroom use of technology for these purposes. Technology grants will be provided to support teachers with students most at risk of failing to meet State standards in an effort to close the achievement gap.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be certified teachers at a public elementary or secondary school in Arizona (including charter schools)
  • Teach in a school that has a minimum of 65% of its students in a free or reduced lunch program
  • Explain how the money will be used and why it will increase student access to and use of online news sources and Web-based learning opportunities
  • Explain how the daily practice of online reading, research and learning will increase student achievement
