Introduction/MIE Mission

Media In Education (MIE) is committed to providing learning opportunities for students of all ages in an effort to create lifelong readers, informed consumers and involved citizens. We promote literacy, technology and educational excellence by providing newspaper subscriptions, student content, online resources and classroom technology grants.

Tech Grant Program

MIE encourages the daily practice of online reading, research and learning, and will provide funding that supports classroom use of technology for these purposes. Technology grants will be provided to support teachers with students most at risk of failing to meet State standards in an effort to close the achievement gap.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be certified teachers at a public elementary or secondary school in Arizona (including charter schools).
• Teach in a school that has a minimum of 65% of its students in a free or reduced lunch program. Click here to access free/reduced lunch reports for Arizona schools. Use the most recent report to find your school's percentage.
• Explain how the money will be used and why it will increase student access to and use of online news sources and web-based learning opportunities.
• Explain how the daily practice of online reading, research and learning will increase student achievement.
