2010 Census Resources
Every ten years, a Portrait of America is taken by the
U.S. Census Bureau. The 2010 Census will provide a clear and
detailed picture of our nation.
To facilitate an understanding of the process, the U.S. Census Bureau has teamed up with Scholastic to create 2010 Census: It's About Us to provide a series of lesson plans for use by teachers and parents. The lessons will benefit students by increasing awareness of the 2010 Census count and the impact it has in their communities.
The lessons and activities are categorized by grade level and tied to national standards and benchmarks. Included are reproducible student worksheets, printable assessment, activity, and skills pages.
In addition, Quick-Start Guides introduce a variety of FREE lessons and resources available online at the U.S. Census site.
