Meet the TEEN SPEAKS!! Participants

TEEN SPEAKS!!! is a newly developed program for high school students who are interested in a career in journalism and need to build up their writing portfolio.

Every 15th of the month beginning November and running through April, students submit one article. The topics for these articles are either of interest to or about teens.

Students are paired with a Mentor from the Miami Herald. Each Mentor serves as a writing coach for each student-- equipping them with the necessary skills to write their articles.

At the end of April, a panel of Herald employees will judge the articles to chose a "Student Journalist of the Year"
