Manager Jodi Pushkin joined the St. Petersburg Times Newspaper in Education program in October 2005. However, she has worked in NIE since 2000 developing curriculum, fundraising, conducting workshops and encouraging teachers to use the newspaper to enhance the educational experience of their students. She moved to the Tampa Bay area in 1987 from Long Island, New York. As an educator and former journalist, Pushkin has found the perfect career to combine her educational, curriculum development and journalism knowledge and skills. Upon earning her Bachelor of Arts in English writing and literature from Long Island University in Southampton, NY, Pushkin entered the field of journalism working as a reporter in Brandon, Florida. While earning a Masters of Arts in English education at University of South Florida in 1990, Pushkin entered the world of education. She taught kindergarten and first grade at a private school before teaching English and journalism at Plant High School in Tampa, Florida for seven years. In addition to teaching high school, Pushkin has taught at Hillsborough Community College, St. Petersburg Junior College, Pasco Hernando Community College and Saint Leo University. Development Specialist Victoria Reynolds joined the St. Petersburg Times Newspaper in Education program in November 2009. Tori earned her Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communication from the University of Central Florida. While attending UCF, she served as a long-term intern for the UCF Foundation. It was at the Foundation that Tori fell in love with fundraising. She comes to us from Lake County Florida where she served as a development specialist and volunteer coordinator for the Boy Scouts of America.
