1. How can I receive the newspaper for my classroom?

Electronic delivery of the newspaper can be ordered by completing and submitting this online Registration Form. If you need the print edition, it is available at 25¢/copy; please contact us at mlyons@starledger.com

3. Is there a minimum number of newspapers that need to be ordered?

The minimum is 10 electronic or print copies per classroom.

4. What grade levels does your program cover?

We have curriculums available for Kindergarten through 12th grade. We also have adult literacy programs.

5. What subject curriculums are provided?

Curriculum materials cover all of the basic subject areas and specialized topics covered in classroom environments, including anti-bullying, government, career-planning, etc.

6. Why use NIE in my classroom?

Research conducted at the University of Minnesota found that students in schools with NIE programs did better than those without them, improving test scores up to 10%. The study found that low-income, minority and non-native English-speaking students also benefited. The research offers strong proof that NIE programs have a positive impact on the education of America's youth.

7. Do you deliver on school holidays or when children are not in school?

No. When placing your order, be sure to let us know days that you do not want electronic or classroom delivery.

8. What do I do if I cannot access the paper electronically or print copies I ordered do not arrive?

Electronic copies of the newspaper are available online at 5:30 a.m. Monday through Friday.

Print copies are delivered early in the morning before the start of school. It is advisable to alert your custodial or office staff of all days that you expect delivery; your name will be clearly marked on your newspaper bundle. Please call Educational Services at 973-392-5841 if your papers are not there when you arrive at school. We must hear from you prior to 10:00 a.m. in order to recover your papers for that day.

9. How much is an NIE classroom subscription?

Digital delivery of the newspaper is entirely free through the generosity of our sponsors and readers who donate the value of their newspaper subscriptions while they are away. Classroom copies of the print edition are offered at a special educational rate of 25¢ per copy.

10. How many days can I order the paper?

You may order delivery for as many days necessary to accomplish your classroom goals, Monday - Friday. Sign up for a full semester or just those weeks you wish to receive delivery.
