The Odyssey

The Odyssey is a great way to introduce your students to world cultures and inspire their spirit of adventure and curiosity. This enthusiastic team of volunteer travelers is exploring a fascinating variety of indigenous cultures and taking a look at some of the social issues affecting the people they meet along the way.

GOALS -- Global Online Adventure Learning Site

This site is a collection of real-life adventures, and students get to go along for the virtual trip. Teams of explorers periodically post updates of their journeys. Each GOALS adventure has a registry for posting comments and questions to the explorers. Users can also sign up to receive notification when expeditions begin.

The Cave of Lascaux

Take a virtual tour of the Cave of Lascaux and see the Paleolithic wall paintings as well as the major features of the cave. Art students can learn how perspective was created on the rock surface, techniques used to interpret the paintings and engravings, the materials used by artists of the time, how to date a cave painting, and more.
