Activities:

1. Draw a large picture of Amelia Earhart’s airplane. Paste newspaper words that describe or are related to Amelia Earhart’s life on the fuselage , or main body, of the plane.

2. Plan a dinner party for Amelia Earhart. Select five people from the newspaper whom you would invite to your dinner party. Explain why you think Amelia Earhart might like to meet them.

3. Make a list of the personal characteristics you think Amelia Earhart demonstrated. Now find people in the newspaper whom you think share each of the characteristics. Explain your choices.

4. How were these important in Amelia Earhart’s life: (a) Neta Snook, (b) bloomers, (c) Fred Noonan and (d) Howland Island?

5. Pretend you are opening an Amelia Earhart restaurant. Give your restaurant a name. Create a menu: Paste newspaper pictures of food on a folded piece of paper. Make up an Amelia and/o r aviation name for each of the dishes on your menu. Share your menu with friends and family.
