Activities:

1. Select a book you would like to read from those in today’s Mini Page. Make a poster for the book. Draw a picture for the book on a piece of paper. Paste newspaper words and pictures that encourage people to read the book around your drawing. Share your poster with friends.

2. Pick a newspaper story that would make a good nonfiction book – a book about real things. Pick another newspaper story that would make a good basis for a fantasy, fiction book. Explain your choices.

3. Select four people from newspaper stories. Match them with a book in The Mini Page. Explain your matches.

4. Which of the books in today’s Mini Page are about (a) science, (b) history, (c) writing and (d) fantasy?

5. Create a new story by blending two books in The Mini Page. Pick two books. Write a description of the story you would create.
