Activities:

1. Write the letters P-A-T-R-I-O-T-S down the left side of a piece of paper. Now find words in the newspaper that describe the black patriots and that start with the letters in the word Patriots . Paste the word next to the correct letter.

2. Find a newspaper story about someone who has displayed bra very in a difficult situation. Write a sentence comparing that person to the black patriots .

3. Make a list of the character traits of the black patriots in today’s Mini Page. Explain why you selected these words.

4. How were these people or events important to the black patriots in our history: (a) James Armistead, (b) Rh ode Island, (c) Boston Massacre and (d) Salem Poor?

5. Research one of the black patriots featured in today’s Mini Page. Write a brief biography of the individual you selected.
