But, with an area of 356,669 square miles it ranks 14th in size in Africa, far behind the 919,595 square miles of Algeria, the largest nation.
B. Some English-speaking rebels in Cameroon are demanding independence over perceived marginalization by the dominant French-speaking majority. France and Britain colonized most of West Africa which was the center of the Atlantic slave trade during the 15th to 19th centuries.
