British programmers have created software that uses artificial intelligence to identify and block extremist propaganda videos from being posted online. The program can tell the difference between news reports about the Islamic State and videos trying to recruit for the terrorist group.
Class discussion: Do you think artificial intelligence programs should censor what you see or read? Why or why not? Do we need help deciding what is real news or propaganda? Do you check the source of the reports you read or videos you watch? What sources do you trust? Why do you trust them?
